Well, Guys if you don’t know then Hemkund sahib is a religious and historical gurudwara located at 4633 m above sea level. Whereas some in the case of World heritage sight announced by UNESCO The Valley of Flowers is located almost at the same height. Both spots are heaven on earth. Talking about the history of Sri Hemkund Sahib then it is a place where Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji did great penance in his previous birth( A deep Meditation). He mentioned this in their Aaad Granth ( A great epic written by Guruji). If you want to visit diverse Flora and Fauna then Valley of Flowers is a treat for you. Both locations are located in the Chamoli District of Uttrakhand. It is spread in around 90 KM area. You can easily roam around this place. Let’s discuss the whole itinerary of these wonderful treks.

What is the Transportation Cost of Valley of Flowers

Guy as the base camp of both these locations is the same which is Govind Ghat. So the nearest railway stations from Govind Ghat are located in Rishikesh and Haridwae City. Let’s discuss the whole itinerary. I would divide or cut the budget assuming as a group trip and also the departure point is New Delhi.

So readers it will cost you around 2500/- Rs of the two-way journey to these both treks. Although you can also go by Riskikesh-Josimath-GovindGhat this is the second route. It will hardly take two days to reach Govind Ghat which is the starting point of your Trek.

Day-wise Itinerary to Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib Trek

Day 1

Around at evening, you would reach Rishikesh city from New Delhi by Train. There you can stay in Gurudwara Rishikesh Sahib without any cost and also eat in Guru Ji ka langar( A huge kitchen that serves food free of cost). Whereas if you have drinking habits or you are a couple then you can also stay in cheap hotels which will cost you around 500-600 Rs/- per room. thus, for one person it would be 250/- Rs Calculating your food charges then it will be easily maintained under 200 Rs/- per day. Day 2

On your second day, you would reach Govind Ghat. At there you can easily stay in Gurudwara Govind Ghat free rooms. Must carry your Aadhar card with you for booking the rooms at Gurudwara Sahib. There is also a free Guru ka Langar available at Gurudwara Sahib. After taking a rest in Govind Ghat and visiting surrounding sights. you can plan your next day’s trek. There are also so many hotels are available if you want to stay there. Which will cost you 500/- Rs per room. So same as Day 1 your combined cost of food and Accommodation would be 450/- Rs per person.

Day 3

On your third day start your trek to Sri Hemkund Sahib from the first trekking point which is 4 km away from Govind Ghat. Guys try to start as early as possible in the morning. Check-out from your Govind Ghat staying room. From trekking point to Sri Hemkund Sahib total walking distance is 16 km by Ghangriya. After completing 10 km of your trek you can take a rest at Ghangriya for 1 hour or less. After that head towards Sri Hemkund Sahib. it would take you around 12 hours or more of walk from the First trekking point to Hemkund Sahib and Back to Ghangriya. On Day 3rd Stay in Ghangriya (Govind Dham). You can aslo stay in Gurudwara Sahib at Ghangriya or book an hotel. The Average cost of meal and accommodation on your day 3rd would be the same as previous days 450 per person in case you opt for Hotels to stay.

Day 4

After finishing your trek on Day 3rd and taking a rest at Ghangriya pack your stuff and go for the trekking of Valley of Flowers. This mind-blowing fantastic valley is located 4 km away from Ghangriya. You have to take a ticket to visit this valley which will cost you around 150/- Rs per person. It would be a breathtaking experience for you. The vast meadows with the Pushpawati river and vibrant flowers hold scenic beauty. This trek would also take your entire day to go there and come back to Govind Ghat. The average meal cost and accommodation cost would remain the same 450/- Rs. So total expenditure of Day 4 would be 600/- Rs.

Day 5-6

Last 1 or 2 days of your trip would be spent in travel back to your departure location. So here we assume 5 days total of this trip.

Important things to be noted for this Trek

  • Best Time to Do this Trek is August to October because between this time period the weather is so beautiful. you will definitely see so many flowers in Valley.
  • Pack your Winter Clothes with you as due to the high altitude to much cold out there.
  • A two or one liter water bottle is must, Always carry with you and refill the water as you get the chance.
  • Some food and other things are overpriced try to bargain always.
  • Umbrella and Rain Coat is also Compulsory since there is lot of raining during June-July.
  • Kapoor and Comfortable Shoes are also must for this trek.
  • Jio, Bsnl and Airtel these three sims work properly around this trek. Thus no need to bring any specific sim card.
  • Do some exercises and practice of walking atlest 10 km per day as it would make you fit for this trek.
  • Food, health, Toilets, Essential items shops and water facility are available throughout your trek.
  • Talking about Difficulty level of this Trek then it lies under Easy to Moderate.
  • You can also rent a winter jacket or Oxygen Cylinder in case of any emergency.
