Manali is an amazing city located north of the wonderful Kullu valley in Himachal Pradesh. It is also known as the ‘Valley of the Gods’. It is the number 1 hill station in India. All the adventurous activities ranging from zorbing ball to paragliding can be experienced in Manali. The location of Manali city is so satisfying in its own way as it is surrounded by dense pine and deodar forest not only this but also snow-peaked mountains and rivers around Manali make it like a paradise on earth. We had been there two years ago and as I can say, it was unforgettable moments and time in Manali that we had together, my gal pals make every trip more interesting. Therefore, try to travel with your gang. Let’s check what it will cost you and how you will manage your expenses there including everything. How to reach Manali, mode of transportation and cost

  1. By Train: – First of all, the departure point is new Delhi, where you can easily get so many trains to Chandigarh, Chandigarh is the nearest railway station to Manali. So first you have to take the train from New Delhi to Chandigarh junction which will cost you around 200/- Rs in sleeper class. After arriving at Chandigarh railway station, you will have to take auto-rickshaw or something to the Chandigarh bus stand which will cost you around 20-30 rupees per person. From Chandigarh bus stand you can easily get the number of buses to Manali which run 24×7 hours. The ordinary bus from Chandigarh to Manali will cost you around 500/-Rs. Although there might be some chances the direct bus is not available. You can take a bus to Kullu and visit local sights so you can switch your bus to Manali.
  2. By Bus: – From Delhi, You can easily get so many direct buses to Manali, even Volvo semi sleeper bus will cost you around 900/- whereas an ordinary bus will cost you around 750/-Rs only for a one-way trip. It may also vary due to seasons.

Accommodation cost in Manali

This is the one most fascinating thing, that will make you surprise too. Accommodation in Manali is almost free. There is a dharmshala just 5 minutes’ walk from bus stand of Manali which offers amazing rooms with all the facilities just 40 Rs/- per room. Isn’t shocking, I know but this is the fact.

 It is located in the main market so needless to worry about basic necessity and food. Even the local sights are close to it. In one room there are 3 beds. Sometimes you have to compromise with the quality of bathrooms, but it will cover it up at this cheap price of the stay.

Food and meals

In breakfast, it is awesome to have paranthas. So, one parantha will cost you around 20 Rs/- with butter. Tea is also mandatory as it is cold out there in Manali. So, count 3-4 cups of tea per day, costing you around 10 Rs/- per cup. Now come to the lunch in which everybody prefers to eat snacks and all. Thus, one plate of noodles or stuffed burger will cost you around 40/- Rs and at last, in dinner, a full desi thaali including shahi paneer, dal makhani, and 4 tandoori chapatis with salad will cost you 60/- Rs approximately. Although you can cut the cost just by having only one dal. Thus, all meals will cost you around 150/- rupees.

Local sights in Manali and local cost of transportation

Hadimba temple: – Oh What a lovely place it is. So many Punjabi songs have shot over here. It is right in the center of the forest. It would be lovely if you go there on your feet. The path leading to the Hidimba temple is passing through the dense forest just totally like a twilight movie forest.

  1. Van Vihar Park: – It is a small park near the bus stand in Manali. There is also a small lake where you can enjoy boating. Some other fun activities can be performed too.

  1. Vashisht temple: – This a temple located 4km away from Manali, therefore you will have to take a taxi or auto from the bus stand to go over there and it will cost you around 15/- Rs of one way. It is a temple with hot springs where you can take a bath.

  1. Jogini Waterfalls:- This is another wonderful place that is a little further than vashisht temple. To visit yogini fall you have to walk around 30 minutes through a terrifying and beautiful pathway.

Neighborhood Manali places and sites including cost

  1. Rohtang pass:- To touch the sky and enjoy the heights of the greater Himalayas, Rohtang pass is the best point to visit. Also, it is fully covered with snow all over the year. Talking about the cost you have to book a Volvo one day in advance which will bring you to Rohtang pass. So I suggest just book on the day of your arrival at Manali. A Volvo will cost you 500/- rupees of a two-way trip to Rohtang pass. One another cost is having a snowsuit which you will have to take on rent, otherwise, your clothes will get wet. It will cost you around 250/- Rs. At Rohtang Pass, you can enjoy all the snow activities like skiing, robbing, and much more. So total cost of visiting Rohtang pass would be 750/-. I will also recommend bringing some snacks with you as Rohtang is 50 km away from Manali so it will take your entire day as there is very few food stalls on the way to Rohtang.
  1. Solang Valley: – It is the one another great place to see vast meadows of grass and enjoy some adventure activities like paragliding, roping, and zorbing ball. It is located 14 km away from Manali. An ordinary bus will cost you around 30 rupees per person from Manali to Solang and it will take 1.5 hours to reach Solang valley so you can easily come back to your staying place in Manali.
  1. Manikaran:- it is a town beyond the well-known kasol destination. So to reach over there you will have to take an ordinary bus from Manali which will charge you around 50/- Rs and the distance between Manali and manikarn is around 35 Km. Surprisingly at manikaran, there is a huge Sikh gurudwara Manikaran sahib where you can stay free of cost and eat delicious langar. Overall Manikaran is totally free to visit just from the point of services provided by gurudwara sahib.

That’s how your next three days will be on such a wonderful locations!!!!!

Overall Cost of 4N and 5D

Food :- 150 Rs/- per day per person So 150 x 4 = 600

Accommodation :- 40 Rs/- per night per grounp = 40 x 4 =160

Transportation local and all:- 1600/- Rs of a two-way trip to Manali, 750/- Rs to Rohtang of the two-way trip from Manali, 60 Rs/-  to Solang of Two-way trip from Manali, and 50 rupees to Manikaran.

Total :- 600+160+750+1600+60+50 = 3220 Rs/- , Now go and enjoy the trip !!
