Visit the entire Ladakh including Nubra Valley, Pangong Lake, Hanle, and Tso moriri lake for 15 days

I know everyone wants to write his or her own Ladakh Diary. It is a desire that most Indian adults have. Well, people just hesitate and avoid this trip because of the high budget. Well, your guide is here and my work is just making expensive trips under medium or low budget. So, Guys let’s dive into this itinerary. In this article, I will be going to explain the Ladakh trip by Public Vehicles and Personal Bikes. Please it should be duly noted that never go to Ladakh in the car as it is quite difficult for people to drive a car on snowy roads and high passes of Ladakh. However, if you want to go by car then just make sure that a car should have good ground clearance.

Why is Ladakh famous for

Ladakh is mainly known for its high motorable passes in the world. It is the most fantastic part of the Indian Himalayas. But for onwards Ladakh is becoming a Union Territory. It is located in the most northern parts of India. Ladakh is totally pollution-free area. There are so many breathtaking landscapes in Ladakh. Moreover, Crystal clear blue sky, thrilling activities, Lakes and Buddhist Monasteries, and festivals that one can enjoy on Ladakh Trip.

What is the Transportation Cost of Ladakh?

Like as earlier articles, the starting point is New Delhi, you can make adjustments in it according to your commencing point. See, I know every person has different preferences when it comes to visiting Great Ladakh. So here I would discuss both means of transportations Bike and Public Vehicles like buses and trains. So, let’s check how much it would cost you along with distance and timing. Well one thing more, here I would discuss the circuit route of Leh-Ladakh in which you will enter by Delhi-Jammu-Srinagar-Cargill route and Come back by Kylong-Manali-Chandigarh-Delhi Route.

Circuit route in train and Buses to Leh and back to your home

Necessary Things for Leh Trip are: –

• Small medical kit and other medicines because the altitude of Ladakh is higher than normal. You may suffer from some health issues.
• A pocket Knife, a torch, facewashes and sunscreens, winter clothes are a must to carry.

Circuit route on Bike (Royal Enfield) Mileage assuming as 40km/ltr.   to Leh and back to your home

Necessary Things for Bike traveler while Leh trip: –

• Via Srinagar you have to take one permit for Leh travel, And After returning time again you need a permit from Leh to Rohtang pass.
• Bring your entire documents especially your Adhar Card and Passport Size Photos.
• Must complete your bike’s documents and your driving license. Also Get serviced your Bike before starting your trip.
• Bring with you these things Tool kit, Puncture kit, Chain Lock, Spark Plug, Chain Lubricant, Accelerator wire and Engine oil small pack
• Waterproof bags for cloths, Winter wear, Raincoat, Power Bank, Post Paid Sim (BSNL), Camera, Keypad Phone and Power Bank
• Jerry can of Oil at least 5 Liter capacity, as there are less petrol pumps

Halting points while off to Leh

• Day 1 Jammu: – After a long journey from Delhi to Jammu it is suggested to take a rest at Jammu. Travel time from Delhi to Jammu is around 12 hr. So just leave from Delhi in the early morning.
• Day 2 Srinagar: – It will take you around 6 hours to reach Srinagar. So, it is advisable to stay on your 2^nd day at Srinagar. Srinagar trip.
• Day 3 Kargil: – To reach at Kargil it would again take the same time of 6 Hours. So, it would be great to stay at Kargill and enjoying local sights of Kargil.
• Day 4 Leh: – Well at the end of 4^th day you will arrive at your dream destination Leh. As you will worn out by travel so just rest on your 4^th day in any budget hotel in Leh.

Halting points while returning from Leh

• Day 12 Keylong: – Thus, after visiting for 4 days in Leh and around it you will come back to Keylong. It is again a long journey so it would better to stay in Keylong on the 12th Day.
• Day 13 Manali: – So I included Manali on the 13th day because it is also an amazing place to visit. You should definitely stay in Manali.
• Day 14 and 15: – These both days spent during your travel to come back home from Manali.

Food and Accommodation Cost: –

Food: – Well guys its all depends upon you. See, if you take a simple diet throughout your trip, it would not cost you more than 200/- Rs per day. So, for 15 days your food cost would hardly around 3000/- Rs.

Accommodation: – when it comes to staying in Ladakh then it is pretty cheap. There are so many Guesthouses, Homestays, and Hotels that would cost you around 500-800 RS per room. So, If you are in a group you can narrow down your per-person cost. So, we assume it 300/- Rs per person. Therefore, for 15 days your accommodation charge would be around 4500/- Rs estimated.

Day-wise itinerary to Leh-Ladakh: –

As I have already covered Day 1 – day 4 in Halting points while off to Leh. So here we will discuss rest of the days in which you will actually visit leh’s dream destinations. Let’s start it: –

Day 5 Leh

So on your 5^th day you can visit locally in Leh. There are so many sights in Leh which worth visiting. So, I am not gonna share brief intro, but here are the names of sights to visit in Leh: –

• Shanti Stupa
• Leh palace
• Spituk Gompa
• Namgyal Tsemo
• Zorawar Fort
• Thiksey Monastery
• Magnetic Hills

Locally visiting cost would be around 100 Rs/- either you are on your bike or opting local taxi.

Day 6^th and 7^th around Nubra Valley

– This is bit off side from your trip, but don’t miss this place as you are not gonna visit Leh LAdakh that often. The Diskit town is around 100 km in north from Leh. Places to visit here are: –

• Diskit Town
• Mundar town
• Sand dunes of Hunder

Guys if you are on Bike then Don’t need to worry about timing or else. On-bike it would cost you around 250/- Rs of your petrol. However, when it comes to the bus, note it that Bus from Leh to Diskit runs at 8 am on every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. So, plan according to the schedule of the bus. Bus fare is around 200/- Rs.

Day 8^th Pangong Lake

– Well It is one of the highest lakes in the world. The beauty of this lake is so mesmerizing. Guys if you are a bike traveler then you can directly head towards the Pangong lake from diskit. The road distance from disk it to Pangong is 229 km. So, it would cost you around 540/- Rs of petrol. However, if you will travel by bus then there is no direct bus available at diskit to Pangong but you can book a shared cab which will cost you around 500-600/- Rs. At Pangong lake, you can stay around Pangong lake in Tent houses and in a government hotel.

Day 9^th and 10^th Hanle

It is a magnificent place for stargazing lovers. Even the Galaxy can be seen with naked eyes over here. You can enjoy the local sights in Hanle Town. It would be an unforgettable experience there. Pangong to Hanle distance is around 200 Km by Chushul and Loma towns. So, bike travelers should visit this place definitely. However, I would say for bus travelers to return back to Pangong lake as there no direct bus service from Pangong lake to Hanle. So, for bus travelers you’re these 2 days would spend in back to Leh and from Leh to Tso moriri lake. Bus fare from Pangong to Leh would be around 256 Rs/- and From Leh to Tso moriri lake it would be around 370 Rs/-. One thing to note is Only three buses run every month from Leh to Tso moriri lake. Buses are run on every 10th, 20th, and 30^th date of every month. As the distance from Hanle to Tso moriri is around 150 km so it would cost you 300 Rs/- petrol.

Day 11^th Tso moriri

So at the bank of this lake there is a famous town of Korzok. Here you can manage your stay and all. It is a wonderful blue colored lake in the heart of different colors mountains. It is a must visit place. When you have done visiting rest there.

Day 12^th Keylong

– After visiting Tso moriri lake on 12^th day at early morning leave for Keylong town. For bus travelers, you have to take shared cab or you will have to hitchhike for pang town which is on national highway. From Pang you will get bus to Keylong. Thus, from Tso moriri to Keylong it would cost you around 600/- Rs. For bike travelers the distance between Tso moriri lake to keylong is around 335 km. So, guys it would cost you around 800 Rs.

Day 13^th Manali

Day 14^th and 15^th

These days would be spent in travel while coming back to your home. So that’s how your days would be on Leh trip.

Overall Cost of Leh-Ladakh trip

• Food cost: – 3000/- Rs for 15 days
• Accommodation cost: – 4500/- Rs for 15 days
• Entire Transportation cost: – estimated 4000/- Rs for entire circuit trip for both as permit costs would add in the case of bike trip
• For emergency: – 1500/- Rs
• Total Cost: – 3000 + 4500 + 4000 + 1000 = 13000/-
