Day-wise Itinerary of Kedarnath

Let me first clarify that at Sonprayag, Gaurikund, and while on the trek to Kedarnath food will cost you a bit higher. For instance, one parantha would cost you 50 Rs. Whereas one cup of tea would cost you around 30 Rs. Furthermore, a thali( 2 Vegetables, poories, curry, rice, and salad) will cost you between 100-150/- per thali.

Day 1 Rishikesh

So at your day one, you would arrive at Rishikesh from Delhi. Book a budget hotel there and take a rest. There are so many things in Rishikesh that you can visit. But it will extend your trip and budget too. Your day 1 food cost will around 200/- Rs if you would take a normal diet. Probing further to Accommodation then a room under 500/- Rs for 2 people will cost 250 Rs per head. So your estimated cost of Day 1 would be around 450 Rs/-. Day 2 Sonprayag

After taking a rest at Rishikesh head towards Sonprayag. there are so many buses and taxies available from Rishikesh to Sonprayag. As I already mention distance to Sonprayag and all. The food charges at sonprayag of your second day would be around 300 Rs. The hotels in Sonprayag would cost you between 500 and 4000/- Rs. Always prefer a budget hotel so the per-person cost of accommodation on your day 2 would be 250/-Rs. There are so many cloakrooms available at sonprayag where you can submit your luggage. By doing so you would make your carrying weight light. Since it would make your trek easy. However, you can also stay at Dormentary Government Service which would cost you 300/- Rs per person. These public dormitories are available at Gaurikund and Kedarnath. Thus, your estimated expenditure of Day 2 would be 600/- Rs approximately.

Day 3 Off to Kedarnath

On your day 3 you will have to do a trek of 16 KM. However you can opt pony ride or something if you have any respiratory issue or any other joint pain problem. It will take around 6-7 hours on trek from Gaurikund to Kedarnath. It would be best to start your trek as early as possible in the morning. in the evening you would arrive at Kedarnath. There are five major stops where you can take rest and eat food while your trekking. Jungle Chatti, Bheem Bali, Choti Lincholi and Base camp. On your Day 3rd the food cost would be remained same around 300/- Rs whereas accommodation would cost you around 300/- rs per person. Hotels are available under 500-1000 rupees. There is also a government Dormitory available. Moreover facility of tent stay is other budget staying option under 300/- Rs. So i would say your day 3rd expenditure would be around 600/- Rs.

Day 4 in Kedarnath

Well guys your expenditure on Day 4 would remain the same as day 3. Your accommodation and food cost would be around 600 Rs/- per person. There are some places around Kedarnath which you can visit on foot walk. First of all Bhairav Baba is at a 700-meter walking distance from Kedarnath. After this, you can also visit Vasuki Taal and Chorabari Lake there. this lake is also around 1 km walking distance from Kedarnath. So stay in Kedarnath at night. Hotels and dormitories i have mentioned earlier.

Day 5, 6 and 7

So after completing your trip your 5th day would be spent returning from Kedarnath to Sonprayag. Later day 6th would be gone in traveling back to Rishikesh from Sonpryag and on your Day 7th, you will reach your departure point.
