In Kashmir, you can feel and see snowy winter wonderlands to colorful displays of spring blossom, even the vast meadows with sheep and goats grazing on them. To feel those lakes in the heart mountains with emerald clear water and having shikara ride in dal lake add more enjoy in all this trip. Not only this but also the culture of Kashmir is completely different from the rest of India.  Even the local Non-veg food taste amazing there. How to reach Kashmir Srinagar, mode of transportation, time, distance, and cost

  1. By Train: – First of all, the departure point is new Delhi, where you can easily get so many trains to Jammu, where the Indian railway ends. So first you have to take the train from New Delhi to Jammu Tawi junction which will cost you around 335/- Rs in sleeper class. After arriving at Jammu Tawi station, you will have to take auto-rickshaw or something to the Jammu bus stand which will cost you around 20-30 rupees per person. From the bus stand, you can easily get the number of buses to Banihal (a town where Kashmir’s first railway station is located) which runs 24×7 hours. The ordinary bus from Jammu to Banihal will cost you around 115/-Rs. After arriving at Banihal you have to go to the railway station of Banihal. From Banihal to Srinagar train fare is 45/- Rs. Only.

  1. By Bus: – From Delhi, You can easily get so many direct buses to Jammu, even Volvo semi sleeper bus will cost you around 800/- whereas an ordinary bus will cost you around 700/-Rs only for a one-way trip. It may also vary due to seasons. Thereafter you have to switch your bus from Jammu to Srinagar will cost you 550/- Rs even in a Deluxe bus of 25-seater.
  2. Time and Distance: – By Train: – The total distance from Delhi to Srinagar is 880km, and it will take around 26 hours including your Jammu to Banihal switch of the bus. By Bus: – Surprisingly, by bus, the route and distance are around 812km from Delhi to Srinagar, and it will take around 22 hours to reach Srinagar by bus.

Accommodation cost in Srinagar

  1. At Gurudwara Sahib: – Well see when there is a Gurdwara Sahib (Sikh temple) at any palace you don’t have to worry about your accommodation and food at all. So same in the case of Srinagar. Even there are 4 gurudwaras in Srinagar. But the main one is Gurudwara of Chatti or chhevi Patshahi. Where you can easily get a room free of cost. So, your stay of 3-4 days will be arranged there.
  2. At House Boat: – Talking about staying in Houseboat in dal lake will cost 800/- Rs per night if you have good bargaining skills. Thus, if you will go there in a group then imagine just 200/- rupee per person.
  3. Budget Hotels and guest houses in Srinagar: – There are lots of hotels and Guesthouses in Srinagar which cost around 600/- Rs per night.

Food and meals

  1. Breakfast: – In breakfast in the hill station, it’s amazing to have paranthas in the morning. So it will cost you around 60 Rs/- per plate which includes 2 aaloo paranthas with butter and tea.
  2. Lunch: – In Lunch a plate of noodles and burgers will do work to fill your stomach. Which will cost you around 80/- Rs only. You can also taste some local food of Kashmir like Rogan Josh, Kaahwa, Kashmiri Dum Aaloo, and Madhur pulav which may cost you more than 100/- Rs it depends on stalls and food shops.
  3. Dinner: – For dinner you can prefer to visit Lal chowk where varieties of food are available ranging from non-veg to veg. You can easily manage your dinner cost under 100/- Rs.

Local sights in Srinagar and local cost of transportation

  1. Dal Lake: – It is the main point of attraction in Srinagar. Doing a Shikara Ride in this lake is so enjoyable and exquisite. It is surrounded by snow-peaked mountains. Even So, many small islands are there in this lake.
  2. Tulip Garden (Indira Gandhi Memorial): – It is an amazing garden near dal lake which is spread over 32 hectares of area. It is totally like being in Netherland once you will there. There is a ticket of 10Rs/- to visit this garden.
  3. Shalimar Bagh (Garden of Mughals): – This is another fantastic place to have a glance over Mughal’s horticulture and it is the garden which covers with green grass. There are also some unique trees of almonds and other nuts.
  4. Hazratbal Shrine: – It is a holy place for Islamic followers. This is the place that holds great history related to Muslim peg ambers. It will definitely give you goosebumps when you will visit here because of its secrecy.
  5. Other places: – Wular lake, Char Chinar, and Pari mahal is another center of attraction.

This is the heart whelming experience which will you have on the first two days in Srinagar!!!!

Neighborhood Srinagar places and sites including cost

  1. Gulmarg: – Gulmarg is a beautiful town located 52 km away from Srinagar. This Loving valley of Gulmarg is totally like heaven on earth. It offers varieties of sightseeing and other adventure activities. You can easily go there and come back by evening to Srinagar. An ordinary bus will cost you 200Rs/- of one way to Gulmarg from Srinagar.
  2. Pahalgam: – It is a wonderful place located 70km south-east to Srinagar, as per my opinion because to see vast meadows of green grass surrounded with snow-peaked mountains makes it is like heaven. There is also a famous valley Betaab valley where a famous movie of sunny Deol had shoted. Lots of fun activities like trekking, hiking, and camping one of my favorites. A bus will charge you 300/-Rs of one-way from Srinagar to Pahalgam. It is also commencing point of Amarnath yatra.
  3. Sonamarg:- it is a town located on the way of Cargill. However, this is a congested area. Although you can travel over high-altitude roads. It is located 75 km away from Srinagar. It will cost you 300 for a one-way trip by bus from Srinagar.

That’s how your next three days will be in such a wonderful location!!!!!

Overall Cost of 5N and 6D

Food:- Around 1000/- Rs if you go within the budget for the whole trip.

Accommodation:- While you are in Srinagar And you stay in gurudwara then it would almost be free. But in Pahalgam, you may have to get a room which will cost you 500/-Rs per room and in the group of 5 people, you will have to pay only 100/- Rs.

Transportation local and all:- 1000/- Rs of the two-way trip to Kashmir(Srinagar) from Delhi on a train,  1600Rs expenditure on visiting Sonmarg, Gulmarg, and Pahalgam. 500 Rs/- will spend on local transportation in Srinagar to visit local places.

Total :- 1000 + 100 + 1000 + 1600 +500 = 4200

However, if you commute by bus then your trip’s overall expenditure extends up to 5000/- Rs.
