Iceland is a country that lies in Nordic Region. Although it is a part of Europe so the Schengen Visa would be the best option. It is mainly known as the land of ice and fire. Since in Iceland, there are so many glaciers and active volcanoes. There are also so many Geysers and hot springs present where one can enjoy the real beauty of Iceland. Despite being the most expensive country in the world, it has a lot to offer. The capital city of Iceland is Reykjavik. The current population of Iceland is nearly 3.5 lac. Iceland is rich in culture and history. Due to Terrain diversity, one can enjoy the special beaches of Iceland and also the Vast meadows of Iceland. It is also known as the last place which was settled by humans. Iceland is a Scandinavian country. Well, it is a less visited place than the rest of Europe. What I bet you by reading my article, you would forget about Europe’s other famous countries.

Guys as it is an international country and an overseas country Thus, the flight is only the great option one can opt to travel to and fro to Iceland. A Flight to Iceland from Delhi Including a Return ticket would cost you around 60,000 rupees if you book at least 2 months in advance. Always use incognito of chrome browser for booking an online flight or use google flights website.
Rental Car Cost to visit entire iceland
Guys you can also go for public transportation, but there are so many spots which are off-side. I would suggest taking a car for rent and freely roam around the entire of Iceland. A rental car would give you total freedom to halt or visit at any place. Always go for 4-wheel drives as too much snow and cold area Iceland is. A manual car is always cheaper. Always fix in mind that you have to drive right-hand side. Indian might be facing a problem with this. Things to in mind :-
- While booking online you may see a huge difference in various offers of cars.
- It can vary from 18000/- to 60,000/- Rupees per week. Car insurance is mandatory As there are so many car insurances in Iceland.
- The basic insurance of 18 years old car is free of cost and called Collision Damage Waiver. But if any mishaps happen to your car then you will have to pay around 1.5 lac rupees as fine.
- After that second option of insurance policy which will cost you 7000/- rupees fees of insurance. It is Super Collision Damage Waiver. So in case of any damage to the car, you will have to pay just 50,000 Rupees.
- At the end would suggest that always rent such a car which have all kind of insurances covered. It will cost you around 50-60K rupees. Either any strong winds or gravels of Iceland cause any damage to your rental car’s windshield needless to worry about that. Everything would be covered in a 60K rental car.
- The total cost of fuel while covering the ring road of Iceland from Reykjavik would be around 20,000/- Rupees. The total distance of Ring road is around 1600 Km which covered the entire Iceland Country.
- Total Cost :- 60,000/- Rs + 20,000/- Rs = 80,000/- Rs
- So if you are Five in Group then it will cut down to 16,000/- Rs per head.
Tips, Sim Cards, and Currency in Iceland
- Guys, you can visit Iceland any month of the year. If you want to see the northern lights then winter is the best option. However, if you have a desire to visit green Iceland then go there in summer. The normal summer of Iceland is colder than the Indian winter. I would suggest you go there in Off-season like September or in March.
- Must bring your winter clothes with you.
- Although you will get wi-fi in every hotel in Iceland if you would want to purchase one Icelandic sim then it would cost you around 2000/- Rs.
- Taking about Iceland Currency it is Icelandic Korona. 1 Indian rupee= 2 Icelandic Korona. I would suggest using your Travelcard or Indian Credit Card everywhere. Needless to worry about foreign currency exchange.
Hotels and Meal Cost of 7 days in Iceland
Hotels:- Guys if you are a budget traveler then I would suggest you stay at hostels. hostels are available everywhere in Iceland. An average hostel would cost you around 2000/- rupees per night. So your overall 7 days cost of Accommodation would be around 15000/- Rs. One thing more as we would be doing a road trip in Iceland so every night would be at the new place. You can book hostels under budget on the Booking.com website.
Food and Meal :- Try to carry as much packed food as you can. Since the normal food is so expensive in Iceland. For instance one single bread would cost you around 100 rupees. Another option is Do purchase grocery at Reykjavik city and cook your food in hostels where you would be staying. An estimated cost of one day food would be around 2000/- Rs per person. So overall cost of 7 days food would be 14000/- Rs including Liquor.
