Airport Transfers to any Island in Maldives

There is only two main budget-friendly means of transportation to roaming around islands. There are speed boats and ferries (A bus-shaped public boat). Another thing is that Maafushi island is the best and budget-friendly island in the Maldives. So, after leaving the airport just hop on a ferry or speed to go to Mafushi Island.

  • Public ferry from airport to Maafushi Island will cost you around 2$. But it takes too much time.
  • Sharing Speed boat from airport to Maafushi will cost you around 20$. It will save your time.

But I would recommend you speed boat as it will save your pricy time. However, one thing more if you would have booked your hotel then it would be better to talk to your hotel about all the schedules of ferries and speed boats. There is also a timetable for speed boats and ferries. It is a must converse with your hotel staff about proper details and booking of speed boats and ferries.

The overall cost of the Maldives trip

Assuming 1 US dollar = 75 rupees

  • Transportation cost :- 20,000 Rs to and back flight ticket + around 50$ of Speed boat to and fro from Male to maafushi island = 20,000 + 3750 = 23,750 rupees in total
  • Hotel and meal cost of 4 days = 10000 (including your breakfast and dinner from hotel and green tax)
  • Day-wise cost of activities = day 1 + day 2 + day 3 + day 4 = 0 +  120 $ + 30 $ + 30 $ = 180 $ = 180 X 75 = 13,500 rupees.
  • Emergency money = 30$ = 30 X 75 = 2250
  • Overall Cost = 23,750 + 10,000 + 13,500 + 2250 = 49,500 ( just assume it 50,000)
