Promoting a confident outlook among school-going children has become a common fashion for many schools, globally. Here I would like to talk about a time when I had to participate in these confidence-boosting co-curricular activities. Actually, I am a little foggy on it but I guess this was either 5 or 6 years ago when I scored less in my English exams. As a solution for this, my English teacher Mr. Shan got my name enrolled in an inter-house melody competition where students have to sing any song of their choice for at least 3 minutes.

For me, this news came out of the blue and I got flabbergasted at that moment and also felt like a victim of this just because of scoring fewer marks. However considering to not make my teacher furious for going against her, I decided to go ahead with this. I chose the famous English song Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley. This song being part of meme culture was a cherry on top as its lyrics were already memorized to me. Finally, D-day came and it was my turn now.

I took a deep breath and stepped on stage shivering. Seeing a dense audience made me feel sick to my stomach. Still, I somehow sang the whole song and God knows how even won 4th position. My teacher was very proud of me also I felt magnificent on that occasion. This also proved to be a great morale booster and in the end, I also scored 88 marks in my English exams. So this was the time when I had to sing a song and I am forever grateful for this.

Sample Answer 2:-

Well singing a song in front of a public, kind of a big deal for me. Most of the time I just avoid such a kind of occasion but still, there was a time I was totally helpless. Actually speaking or singing in front of a huge audience requires full of guts and confidence and these are what I am lacking. As I vividly remember it was 3 years ago when I was studying in the last year of my BTech at my college yadavindra and it was the day of my farewell party.

Every student in my class was supposed to perform any activity. So was I. I was quite nervous about my turn. As our anchor calling everyone one by one. One of my friends yashan recommends taking a sip of vodka just in order to build my confidence. I did totally opposite. I drank 3-4 shots of vodka instead of 1 sip. I was totally high on alcohol. Some weird and good feelings started rushing in my body. Like I was an emperor of the world and so and so. I went on the stage and sang a song by Ed Sheeran “Perfect”. I did this song so well that the whole audience was resonated with the sound of claps and hoots.

I don’t know how I did that well. Maybe I was carried away in emotions because of alcohol. Whatever, It was the best feeling I ever had. I was in seventh heaven. Even i was awarded by beautiful bouquet. So this was the time i sang a song in public.
