Travel to Dharamshala and McLeod Ganj under 2000 for 3 days !!!!

Himachal is a great place to cut the slack from our daily routine and have a quality time in the lap of nature. Thus, everyone now can afford it to have a visit there on some magnificent places like Dharamshala and McLeod Ganj. Here I am going to share a great itinerary in which you can easily manage this just under 2000 rupees, isn’t it amazing.

Here everything is according to a group trip so calculate your expenses if you will go there alone.

How to reach there, mode of transportation

1. By train:- First of all, here the departure point is new Delhi, Where you can easily get so many trains to Pathankot. It will take around 12 hours by train to reach Pathankot. It is the nearest broad-gauge railway station. From this station, you will have to take the toy train to Chamunda marg which will take around 6 hours. Chamunda marg is the nearest station from dharmshala. From chamunda marg, you can easily get the bus to dharmshala which will take 1hour and will cost you very low.
2. By Bus:- From wherever you are, Try to reach Pathankot city of Punjab, it is the city from where you can easily get all sorts of taxis, buses, and vehicles to Dharmshala.

Transportation cost of one way:-

Train:- From Delhi to Pathankot:- around 350/- Rs in sleeper class, Pathankot to Chamunda marg:- around 55/- Rs, Chamunda marg to Dharmshala by Bus :- around 20 Rs/-

Bus:- In ordinary bus it will cost around 600/- from Delhi to Pathankot ,thereafter around 100/- rupees from Pathankot to Dharamshala.

Accommodation in Dharamshala

There is a gurdwara Singh Sabha, which is just a 10-minute walk from the bus stand of Dharamshala. Here, you will get a room on rent of 500/- rupees with 3 beds with clean tiles and beautiful interior and 2 washrooms with all the facilities. Not only this but also the location of this is so astonishing. you can easily see the snow-peaked mountains from your room.

Food

Talking about food, it will cost you around 150/- per day on basic food including paranthas, dal makhani, and Chinese noodles and all. So it will not be going to be a burden to your pocket.

Local transportation

public buses, Volvo buses and taxis can be opted to travel in neighborhood towns. buses will not cost you more than 20 rupees per person.

Neighborhoods and sights

1. chamunda Devi temple:- when you will arrive at chamunda Marg you can visit the chamunda Devi temple and also go to Gopalpur zoo which is 15 km away from chamunda marg. it will just add 100-150 Rs/- more in overall cost.
2. Dharamshala Cricket Stadium
3. St, john in the wilderness church:- it is situated on the way of MacLeod ganj from dharmshala.
4. Macleod Ganj:- In Macleod Ganj you can visit the Dalai Lama temple, Dal Lake, and some more local monestaries
5. Bhangsu Nath Fall and Temple
6. Triund hill
7. Dharmkot a small hill station and village

Overall Cost

1. food and accommodation cost = 150Rs/- food charges+ 100 Rs/- room cost + 50 Rs fare and all = 300 per day
2. Travel charges ;- around 900Rs/- in train of two way trip , around 1200Rs/- in bus two way trip.
